Kappa Phi members support teachers at McLaughlin/Strickland Elementary Intermediate School in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District. (Strickland Intermediate School is named after one of our founding members, Nancy Strickland.) Opportunities to serve include, but are not limited to, photocopying, listening to a child read, providing snacks in the teachers lounge, and hosting a "hospitality lounge" during "Meet the Teacher" night.
Early Educators Grants
Kappa Phi awards grants to Carrollton-Farmers Branch early educators to assist them with classroom needs. The funds for the grants are earned through the auction of member-provided items at our December meeting.

State and International Projects
TSO (Texas State Organization) Week of Caring
Chapters statewide develop service projects in local communities during the months of February and March.
TSO Unifying Project
Project that serves needs of state convention communities; Unifies chapters across Texas in service (April, May).
Schools for Africa
A UNICEF and DKG international project (adopted in 2010) to "transform lives through education" on the African continent, with special focus on girls, orphans, and vulnerable children (March). The TSO Global Awareness Committee has additional information on the DKG Schools for Africa project.
Support Early-Career Educators (S.E.E.)
DKG International project (adopted in 2012) to strengthen the profession by empowering beginning teachers via mentoring and practical support from experienced teachers (year-long focus, September-May).
World Fellowship
The World Fellowship Program began in 1946 as a project to aid women in war-torn countries. To date more than 858 women from over 117 countries have received fellowships to enable them to pursue advanced study in the United States and Canada.-Pals
DKG Texas E-Pals
DKG Texas E-Pals is one way to connect with sisters in other countries. We currently have DKG Texas E-pals in Estonia, Costa Rica, Canada, and Guatemala. If you or members of your chapter are interested in participating, members can sign up by clicking the E-pals button. Afterwards, (not necessarily immediately) you will be contacted with an E-pal connection.
