About Delta Kappa Gamma
Delta Kappa Gamma is
a professional honor society of women educators. The Society promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. Established in 1929, Delta Kappa Gamma has attained major objectives in improving opportunities for qualified women employed at every level of education as well as in advancing the status of women educators.
The society actively recruits qualified women educators. Our organization currently has over 85,000 members in 17 nations, including Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Iceland, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and The United States.
Membership
Among members in Delta Kappa Gamma are Fullbright scholars, renowned authors, state legislators, and members of state boards of education. Members' achievements range from winning community service awards and being named "Teacher of the Year," to leading educator associations in speciailized fields.

Membership Qualifications
An active member shall be a woman who is employed as a professional educator or has been retired from an educational position.

- TO UNITE women educators of the world in a genuine spiritual fellowship
- TO HONOR women who have given or who evidence a potential for distinctive service in any field of education

- TO INITIATE, ENDORSE, AND SUPPORT desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interests of education and of women educators
